Farao Studios was founded by Grammy-nominated musicians and producers Felix Gargerle and Andreas Caemmerer as a dedicated music production facility. Located in the heart of Munich, the studio has become renowned for its exceptional music creation and award-winning recordings.
As early adopters of surround sound production, we worked in 5.1 and 7.1 for music, DVD-Audio, and multichannel SACD. Today, our team specializes in 3D audio, driven by the ambition to create the most immersive and exciting listening experiences possible.
Our sound expertise has taken us beyond the studio, expanding into the automotive and live sound industries. We partner with manufacturers, brands, and artists to deliver emotional, immersive audio experiences in cars, at live events, and for open-air concerts.
We also conduct research into innovative audio solutions for specialized applications where pristine sound quality is essential – always seeking partners who share our passion for ambitious, future-oriented projects.
Technical Overview
Our main control room is designed to meet the highest standards in immersive audio production. Equipped with 34 ADAM Audio loudspeakers, it supports playback formats of up to 22.2.
Mixing and mastering can be carried out in Pro Tools, Nuendo, WaveLab, or Logic Audio. For Dolby Atmos workflows, an external renderer is available. Quality control of Dolby Atmos sessions is ensured through a dedicated HDMI hardware decoder, guaranteeing accuracy from studio to final delivery.
Up to 128 channels of analog equipment can be integrated for hybrid mixing environments – including Urei, Elysia, Pendulum, Lexicon, Chandler, Grace Design, SPL hardware.
Our monitoring system enables flexible speaker configurations, allowing us to simulate a wide range of listening environments such as trade fairs, showrooms, or live events.
Our suite features Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Studio for color grading and screenings. The room is equipped with a 4K laser projector and an extendable screen, creating an ideal setting for both creative work and client presentations.
